The Mobile Design team is looking for top students to support the development of highly integrated power module systems (PMICs) for smart phones and tablet systems. The position is based in the Harlow UK Design Center and will report to either the Systems Team Manager or the Design Manager.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a temporary employee under the supervision of design engineers based in Harlow you will gain industrial experience in various aspects of the microelectronics industry.? The outline period of employment is 6 months.The following tasks are representative of the scope of work envisaged for the internship:Design optimization/improvement of analogue circuit functions using Cadence Artist CAD tools, the task to include circuit analysis and verification through simulation and mathematical modelling.Silicon evaluation and characterization of new chip designs and process technologies using bench testing to debug, evaluate or characterize the material.? The task will include presentation of results for inclusion in data sheets, specifications or device models.Coding of simulation infrastructure using SystemVerilog & VerilogAMSTest writing and debugging in cooperation with System Architect and Block DesignersUse and Development of Advanced mixed signal simulation techniques to enhance simulation efficiencyEDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSCandidates must have completed three or more years in a full time bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program, in the field of Electrical, Electronic or Microelectronic engineering at an accredited European University.Desirable Skills:Experience with a HDL such as Verilog, VerilogAMS or SystemVerilog Understanding of Analogue Integrated Circuits including amplifiers, comparators and voltage referencesExperience of working well in teams? A working knowledge of switching regulator theory is a benefit. ................
