Create a single Dashboard where the user can select the visualAllow the user to select which visual to view all on a single dashboard, in order to have common filters, titles, etc. while minimizing development. Solution:Create 3 worksheets – one a crosstab, one a bar chart and one a map from the data.Create a parameter named ‘Show’Data type = StringAllowable values = ListValues: All, Crosstab, Bar Chart & Map (default it to All)Create a calculated field named ‘display’In the formula – put the parameter – in this case - [Show]On each worksheet (crosstab, bar chart, and map) – drag the ‘display’ calculated field into the filters box.In the filter pop-up – click on the ‘Custom Value List’ radio button.Enter ‘All’ – click add (+)Enter the value related to the sheet (i.e. Enter ‘Crosstab’ on the crosstab sheet, ‘Bar Chart’ on the bar chart sheet, and ‘Map’ on the map sheet).Click OK – the filter should now be shown in your Filters box.Create a Dashboard sheet.Drag over a Vertical layout container Drag over each sheet (cross tab, bar chart and map) into the layout container – one after the other.For each sheet – click to Hide TitleRight Click on the top of any of the visuals – and select Parameters – then select your Show parameter you created, and move the parameter to the left or top of your dashboard.The parameter value will show ‘All’ and all three visuals appear in the dashboard.Select one of the other values from the parameter – and two of the visuals will ‘go away’ and only one shows! Now you can design one dashboard and reuse it with different visuals. ................
