(JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG, GIF)Discuss “Make color Transparent” Use “boy” from sample folderThis file was cleaned up using something like Adobe IllustratorShow what happens if not cleaned up.Step 2 - Set Material SizeWidth/Height as needed. Once file loaded enter either one and the other is automatically calculatedEnter XYEnter Material ThicknessChoose Inches or mmHit “Apply”Step 3 – Set Cutting Parameters ( most important, may require trial and error)Select tool and confirm feed ratesSet “Carving Max Depth”For wood this most likely will be between 0.04” and 0.08”For lithophanes, I used material thickness minus 0.025”Set Line Spacing (may be somewhat tool dependent too)For wood this may range from 80 to 200 depending on overall sizeShow what happensFor lithophanes more detail is needed so 15-40% based on toolSet line angle (I have not used “cross hatch”For wood 20-35 degreesLithophanes 45 degreesInvert light / dark areas (explain)For wood do not check this boxFor Lithophanes check this boxAdjust contrastFor wood this is easy to see the results, keep trying until you like what you seeFor Lithophanes I found it a little harder to visualize so it may require some test cutsHit “calculate” to see the results of changing the above numbersThe samples I brought in used the following parameters shown below: 457200285686500Step 4 – Preview & Save ToolpathHere you can choose a material to help you visualize what it will looks likeAn estimated run time is givenAs in VCarve, it is not exact but relative to options chosenSelect post processor and save file with a meaningful name Questions?Topics for next meeting? ................
