IMPACT 2020 Resource GuideIMPACT 2020 is a series of gatherings/conversations providing African American community members with ties to the Central District the opportunity to engage with City of Seattle department directors about issues directly impacting their community. Whether through storytelling or a question and answer format on various topics, community members are the focus of IMPACT 2020. This is a time for community to be heard! This could include waiving certain fees and/or delaying or adjusting payments.The Home Repair Loan Program provides affordable loans to homeowners who qualify to address critical health, safety, and structural issues. Individuals can sign up to receive updates when the program restarts. KING COUNTY PROPERTY TAX INFORMATIONIndividual residential and commercial taxpayers who pay real and personal property taxes themselves, rather than through their mortgage lender, can delay payment until?June 1, 2020?without late charges,?due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. Reporting can be done anonymously.SEATTLE TOGETHERAs the COVID-19 pandemic continues in Seattle, necessary public health guidance has undoubtedly taken a toll on the economic, physical, and mental health of residents. Seattle Together features local artistic content, mental health breaks, physical activities, and helpful resources designed to provide respite and hope for our community.The Seattle Together website lifts up the creativity of Seattle residents in the following ways:Celebrate: Stories of Seattleites supporting each other and their communities; Connect: Encourages community to connect to neighbors, organizations, and communities through virtual events and gatherings;Give: Opportunities to donate money, food, or resources to vulnerable communities;? SCAM ALERT: There have been reports by many small businesses that scammers are disguising themselves as Small Business Administration officers asking for personal information and a small fee. Government will not ask for a fee to process loans or assist with loan applications.The Office of Economic Development (OED) hosts weekly webinars for small businesses to share new developments, hear about the impacts you are experiencing, and answer your questions. The community is proud of the cultural significance of the Central District to the African American community and would like for those moving in to respect everyone in the neighborhood. SDOT will work with their partners at the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods (DON) and in the community to center decisions around race and equity that minimize risk to the African American community. We are currently designing the engagement plan and expect to start conversations in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can get updates on the program at StayHealthyStreets and share your feedback by emailing ?StayHealthyStreets@.UTILITIESSeattle Public Utilities and Seattle City Light have made changes recently in response to COVID-19. They have:suspended all payment related utility shut-offs for residential and commercial customers.waived all late fees and interest charges for residential, small-business, and nonprofit customers.fast-tracked enrollment in the?Utility Discount Program?and suspended income documentation requirements. The fast-track form is?available online.suspended down payment requirements for setting up payment plans and extended the amount of time available for customers to catch up on their bills from 2 months to 4 months.The City will never call you or show up at your home to demand payment.
