TEXES Content Exam

The TEXES content exam tests teacher candidates on their content knowledge to confirm subject-matter competency before they enter their field experience.

Before you will be approved for the first attempt at the content exam, you must complete the following:

1. Module 1 Section 1 or

all 3 sections of Module 1 for Core Subjects EC-6 and Special Education EC-12 exams

2. Pass the practice test within the study material provided* with at least 88% 3. Notify your program specialist upon completion of your requirements to request test approval.

You must schedule your exam within 30 days and test within 2 months of completing the test approval requirements or your approval will be removed until you can again achieve the required score on the practice test to demonstrate continued proficiency.

Study material is not available for all exams. If this is the case for your exam, you will be provided with a link to an online practice test.
