How to make a telephone: You need 2 plastic cups and string. Cut the string 4 metres long. Make a hole in the bottom of the cups. Poke the string through the hole you made. Tie a knot in the end of the string. Stretch the string out so you can talk through the telephone.

Making a circuit First you put the battery in the holder. Then connect the wire to the holder on the metal bits. Then connect the wire to the metal bits under the light bulb. The light bulb should glow.

By Trey

We got two wires and a battery and a holder and a bulb. We connected the wire to the ends of the metal on the battery then connected the wire to the screws of the bulb. Then the bulb will work.

By Rosie

In the weekend I didn't go anywhere because I had an ear infection in the night. It hurt. I took some Panadol and in the morning it didn't hurt anymore. I went to the doctor and got some antibiotics. You drink it at night and in the morning. It tastes like banana.

By Jack

How to do a leaf rubbing: You need a leaf. You need a crayon. You need a clean piece of paper. Put the leaf on the table. Cover the leaf with a piece of paper. Rub the crayon on its side on the leaf.

By Elisa

The circuit You need: wire, battery, bulb. Get a battery in the holder. Put the wire on the metal bits. Connect the wire to the bulb so it works. Put another battery in another holder and the bulb will shine brighter. It might not work because the battery might be the wrong way round.

Motupipi School Tea Towel Fundraiser Order Form

One wonderful Fundraising Committee has come up with this fantastic idea Motupipi School Tea Towels with a self portrait of your little darling and their teachers and class mates! The teachers and children have been busy drawing themselves and we now have a sample of how our screen printed Tea Towel will look. We also have some samples of other schools' printed tea towels in the office for viewing, The tea towel is printed on good quality cotton and can be a fantastic Christmas or Birthday present or just a fabulous keepsake for your family. The Tea Towels will need to be pre-ordered with the final date: Wednesday 27th June. (Please note no late orders will be accepted. The print is only for a minimum of 100 towels per run.)

Tea Towels will cost $12.50 each, with a bulk order of, 3 or more Tea Towels for $10 each. Yes, I want to order _______ tea towels @ $12.50 each. Yes, I want to order _______ tea towels @ $10.00each. Total amount paid by Wednesday 27th June $_________ (cheques to be made out to Motupipi School Fundraising please)

Please note:- We will still be doing calendars before the end of Term 3.

MINIBALL

Miniball will be starting on Tuesday 24 July, which is in Week 2 next term. There will be two grades:

Year 3/4, which will be held at Takaka Primary School hall Year 5/6, which will be held at GBHS gym The first games will start at 3.30pm with the last game finishing around 5.30pm. However, depending on the number of teams playing, it could finish closer to 6pm.

If your child is allowed to play please fill in the permission slip below, and return to school by next Friday 15 June.

This year we won't be taking late entries. Over the last couple of years we planned the number of teams based on those who gave permission. With extras coming in later we ended up with teams with too many players. If we had known earlier we would have entered extra teams.

As teachers are involved with umpiring games we will need parents to manage each team. If you are able to manage a team on the night and umpire the odd game, could you also please fill in the form below.

The cost for the Yr 5/6 players is $8 and, which covers hall hire and lights. This is payable before the end of term to the school office. Please make cheques out to Motupipi School. There is no charge for the Yr 3/4 players.
