MISSION

The Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE), an independent residential magnet school, will provide academically motivated and gifted 7th through 12th grade students with educational opportunities and experiences in the rapidly growing fields of cyber technology and engineering beginning in August of 2020.

THE STUDENT

1. Graduates with strong ethics, passion, and purpose. 2. Incorporates a selected engineering discipline(s) as an educational track. 3. Demonstrates hard and soft skills that allow for immediate employment in industry, government and / or advanced placement in post secondary school. 4. Comprehends need for innovative thinking and entrepreneurial drive. 5. Has in-hand at least one completed cyber-resilient project delivering significant value to a partner(s) or the school itself.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT

A GROWING PIPELINE of high school graduates that are capable of advanced placement in and successful completion of a post secondary school program of education / training.

A highly technical engineering WORKFORCE POOL that is prepared both in theory and practice for immediate employment in industry or government.

A growing force of educators who teach the impacts of cyber across all subjects.

1. Continue to seek out and grow opportunities for partnerships with industry, academia, government agencies, and individuals to aid in executing the school's vision ? 2. Raise $10-12M

a. To conduct research for the development of an innovative curriculum, b. to prepare an interim facility, c. to design and oversee construction of a modular objective facility / campus, and finally, e. to purchase equipment that supports a collaborative teaching environment.

The dorms will house / provide for upwards of 150 students from around the State at an estimated additional cost of $11K per student annually.

$1-3M Iterative Cyber Initial Technology and Engineering Curriculum

Contributions will fuel an exportable curriculum program and best practices support to a broad range of teachers, administrators and superintendents. The school will also provide summer school programs for both students and external workshops, seminars, and weekend programs to aid in workforce development.

A significant number of students will come from 137 largely rural school districts from across AL. Nearly 61% of schools receive Title I support.

School specific legislation ensures that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to attend this school free of charge.

Residential costs will include specialized staff for the estimated 25% of our brilliant students with special needs.

The cost to equip one Innovative Cyber or Engineering Lab is estimated at $750K to $1M.

The additional annual expense of an Expert Cyber and Engineering Staff is commensurate with the number one threat to our nations security.

The mission of The Alabama School of Cyber and Engineering Foundation (ASCEF) is to partner with industry, government, and

advanced academia to aid in developing a visionary strategy, raise capital, and build the facilities for the school. The

Foundation will also assist with securing funding for innovative labs and ancillary equipment along with curriculum development and extra-curricular programs.
