How do I find out what positions are available?

All of our vacancies are advertised on our website careers

What is the closing date for applications? If there is a closing date it will be stated in the advert. If there is no closing date stated in the advert then we will accept applications throughout the recruitment season until the position (s) are filled.

How do I apply for teaching positions with GEMS? The application process will be stated in the advert. You can apply for any of our vacancies via careers. To apply you need to submit an up to date CV, application letter, recent photograph and details of two professional references.

What shall I include in my application? The more information you include the better. Please always ensure that you have clearly stated the names of the schools where you have worked, accurate employment dates and the age groups and curriculums you have taught.

What is the interview process? If your application is found suitable you will receive a pre-screening call from HR Department and / or the School directly.

If shortlisted further you will be interviewed in detail by Subject HOD / Section Head and / or Principal (depending on the seniority of the role). This round of interview could be done face to face, when one or more from the panel travels to interview hubs in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad). Alternatively interviews are held via telephone, video chat and video conference.

Upon final selection offer is made directly by the school administrative staff who will liaise consistently from this point on through visa processing, flights and accommodation arrangement (for overseas candidates only) until the induction week.

What documents will I have to provide? Upon final selection candidates are required to provide copies of valid passport, attested qualification certificates (degree and teaching qualification) and recent police clearance.

When are references checked?

Please tell us whether you are happy for your referees to be contacted. If you do not wish your current school to be contacted until after interview stage that's fine, but we will need to be able to contact them when your offer is made. All offers are made subject to satisfactory references.

If my application is not successful will I be informed? Due to the volume of applications we receive it is not possible to respond to all applicants individually. Only selected applicants will be contacted. However if you attend an interview then you will be informed whether you have been successful or unsuccessful, and if unsuccessful you will have the opportunity to receive feedback on your interview. If I am offered a position, what happens next? Upon final selection the offer is made directly by the school administrative staff who will liaise consistently from the point of visa processing, flights and accommodation arrangement (for overseas candidates only) through to the induction week. You will be sent the offer and a contract by the school and will then have a point of contact based in the school where you are going to work. This is usually the Principal's Executive Secretary, HR Officer or Staff Relations Officer or Manager School Operations. They will be your main point of contact until your arrival and start at the school. You will receive information on document attestation and the relocation process and will be asked to submit relevant documents. It is very important at this stage that you begin the document attestation process immediately and submit them promptly to avoid delays in Ministry approval and visa process. This could take approximately 4 ? 6 weeks from the time of submission of all relevant documents to the Ministry of External Affairs. The Employment Visa will be processed by the school. New teachers typically arrive around 7-10 days before term starts, in order to settle in to the accommodation and to attend the Induction Week.
