In addition, the project implemented by the nominee must meet at least one of the following criteria: use ICT to improve the common good, either at the local, national or global level (measuring the social benefit); demonstrate efficient use of current technology; highlight the benefits of latest advances; run pilot projects evaluating the potential of new innovative means of communication and information distribution.Criteria for Non-profit organizations: To be nominated, non-profit organizations must utilize information and communications technology to achieve the organization's goals, as well to improve the common good through programs with significant social benefits. Being the 2nd largest university in the world, NU has certainly met the market potential as well as shed its implications in the global scale alike. NU handles around 2,200 colleges and deals with more than 2 Million students and around 160,000 teachers in 34 disciplines. It conducts more than 100 types of examinations throughout the year. This enormous operation is being centrally monitored and enabled by the extensive use of ICT.About National University, BangladeshEstablished in 1992 by an Act of Parliament (National University Act, Act-37 of 1992) the National University (NU), Bangladesh is an autonomous affiliating Public University catering the general and professional education (except Engineering, Medical Science and Agriculture.) in 34 disciplines through its 2196 graduate and post-graduate affiliated colleges and institutions spreading all-over Bangladesh and conducting an on-campus research-based Master in Advanced studies (MAS), M.Phil and PhD Programs and teachers training programme in the central campus located in Gazipur 30 Km away from capital city Dhaka.
