If you plan to pursue a career in the professoriate, it is quite likely that you are expected to not only teach but also provide evidence of knowledge and skills in college teaching. Increasingly, colleges and universities expect future faculty to demonstrate teaching excellence during and after the job search. The College Teaching Certificate Program in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development (EAHR) at Texas A&M University prepares you to do this and more. Through highly selective and applicable coursework, along with teaching internship experiences and observation, this Program offers master's and doctoral-level graduate students the opportunity to engage in and apply the scholarship of teaching and learning with faculty across a range of academic disciplines. Students who complete the Certificate will have it listed on their transcripts as an officially endorsed Texas A&M University Certificate.
Current Texas A&M University students who are in good academic standing can begin taking certificate courses any semester. To be eligible for the certificate, students must complete the current student application ( SV_56yufC8xqncDsUt/)prior to starting coursework.
Interested applicants who are not current Texas A&M University students will apply through the Texas A&M University Graduate CAS Application. The major to select is "College Teaching, Certificate." Application fee: a non-refundable $89 application fee for domestic applicants and $114 application fee for international applicants. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended are required to be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office.
