Lesson Title: Reading

Lesson Duration: Middle Session

Lesson Time and Date: 11/11/2013

Lesson Aims

- The aim of the lesson will be for students to be introduced to the concept of character traits and what clues can we use to see how the character changed from one point in the story to another (we can infer clues such as what the character says, thinks, and does to understand the character and their traits)

Children’s Prior Learning (what do the children already know/what have they covered?)

Students have had an introduction to inferring character traits and this shall be an extension lesson for students to be more proficient in inferring character traits.

Teaching Skill Development (What do you want to develop as a teacher?)

- Management (what is acceptable and what is not, give positive reinforcement for positive attitude and not try to focus so much on the negative but focus on positive reinforcement, which is done by using the warning system).

- Improve introduction of a lesson and time management

- To develop my ability to convey clear instruction for the main focus of the lesson and any activities

- I wish to further develop my ability to better monitor the class situation in regards to share time at the end of the lesson

- I wish to further my read aloud voice and skills

- Improve time and quality of modeling in front of the class
