Instructors with CASE certifications are encouraged, but not required.Work in a partnership to provide active leadership, guidance, supervision, and advisor teamwork with current instructor to grow academic and leadership opportunities for students.Able to learn and use appropriate technology to improve the teaching and learning experiences.Able to develop curriculum to help supplement what is currently being implemented.Able to use a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students in the agriculture realm.Able to use appropriate classroom management techniques to provide students with a safe learning environment.The candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to express ideas clearly and with enthusiasm. The candidate must also be able to communicate and interact in a positive manner with students, parents and staff members. Qualifications: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Agriculture Education.Valid Washington State CTE certificate or ability to apply for one.Current First Aid Card (may be obtained during the first year of employment with the district).Brewster High School Agriculture Education Program has two scopes:Agricultural Power and Mechanical System Technology in AgriculturePrinciples of Agricultural Science Technology – Plant and Animal Systems, Biotechnology+Design OSPI approved Agricultural Curriculum Frameworks that will grow technology concepts to meet industry certifications / competencies.+Work collaboratively with post-secondary partners in providing dual credit opportunities for agriculture students.+The agricultural education instructor is to assist and supervise all students in developing a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). In addition, will serve as advisor of the local FFA chapter and promote FFA activities as an integral part of the agricultural education experience. +The instructor will promote student attendance and provide transportation for students to attend FFA leadership activities, summer field days, and/or livestock events and shows. In addition, the instructor should work with the local community on projects or activities. Also, the instructor will attend professional development+Instructor will maintain an active advisory committee. The committee will officially meet at least twice annually to discuss the direction of the program. Salary: The successful candidate will be placed on the state salary schedule.School: The 2021 - 2022 enrollment is projected to be 270 students in grades 9-12. Approximately 90 percent of the student population is Hispanic. Building is currently mid-year of a two year remodel project with new sports facilities. An extensive component of the project will be a new Agriculture Education facility as well as equipment. The school academic schedule is a modified block and has 14 full time instructors with two shared instructors. The Skyward grade book is standards based. BHS has the support of a full-time academic counselor as well as a full-time district mental health counselor and celebrates a 95% plus graduation rate over the last several munity: The City of Brewster is located on the North shore of the Columbia River, approximately 130 miles West of Spokane and 65 miles North of Wenatchee. Outdoor recreation includes downhill and cross country skiing with three ski resorts located within an 80 mile radius, snowmobiling, backpacking, white water rafting, year-round fishing, hunting, wind-surfing, water and jet skiing, scuba diving, golf (two courses within a twelve mile radius.Application process: A district application can be obtained on the district’s website by calling (509) 689-3418.
