February Meeting- 2010

The regular meeting of the Mahaska Masters 4-H club was held at the First Christian Church on February 1, 2010. Recreation was led by Kaila Wheeldon. The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by President Ryan Smithart. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Julie Wanders. Roll call was, “What is your favorite car?” was answered by 27 members and 5 leaders. Karen Adams read the minutes from the last meeting. Treasurer’s report was read by Jackie Veenstra. Kyndall VerBeek, Sienna DeJong, Sam Adams, and Lexi Baker shared ideas and fun activities they are planning for the Valentines Party on February 12. Ryan Smithart reported on the last Teen Council meeting. Rachel Adams talked about what you do for the Bank Iowa Easter Egg Hunt, which is held on April 3, Alyssa Phillips moved that we help with the Egg hunt and Cole Poe seconded. Ryan Smithart encouraged everyone to read the county newsletter, go to the Horse Clinic, Feb. 6 at 9:00p.m. Ryan also encouraged everyone to go to the photography workshop February 22 at 6:00. Penny Adams asked if any of the kids would need rides there. Dan Adams took a poll as to who would be around for Spring Break for a social event. Kelsey DeGroot led the 4-H pledge. The hosts were Megan and Rachel Adams, and Lisa and Julie Wanders. The whole club went into groups and practiced extemporaneous speaking for one minute. Our next meeting will be March 8th beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church.
