CNA-1 Authorized Duties Competency Validation

As of August 1, 2021, there are new CNA 1 authorized duties. It will be incumbent on the CNA 1 to: a) Not assume an assignment, duty, or responsibility unless competency has been established and maintained; b) Not perform duties or tasks for which the CNA 1has not demonstrated; knowledge, skill, and ability to an Oregon RN with at least one year of nursing experience; c) Inform employer of any current CNA 1 authorized duties that were not obtained within his/her original level one training program curriculum; and d) Maintain documentation to support any attained CNA 1 knowledge or skill competency that was not obtained within his/her original level one training program curriculum.
The CNA 1 is expected to keep this form to document the attained CNA 1 knowledge or skill competency that was not obtained within his/her original level one training program curriculum. Only the knowledge and/or skill(s), for which the individual CNA 1 has not previously demonstrated competency, will be documented on this form.
