World Biomes Project
You and your partners will be responsible for researching and teaching about one of the biomes listed below using a presentation. Your teacher will assign the biome.
Biomes:
Tropical Rainforest Desert
Savanna/Grassland Tundra
Taiga Temperate Deciduous Forest
Each completed project will be graded on the following:
1. Presentation of specific characteristics for your biome.
a. Title page with biome name and team member names
b. Map of the world with the your biome area shaded and visible
c. Average yearly precipitation in inches
d. Average yearly temperature in degrees Fahrenheit
e. Latitude ranges (oNorth/oSouth) for biome location
f. Names and pictures of plants found in your biome (4)
g. Names and pictures of animals found in your biome (4)
h. Interesting facts about your biome (3)
i. Pictures, diagrams, graphs, etc. as necessary to show or accent information being presented to the class
2. Tourist presentation to convince people to visit your biome.
a. Choose a place within your biome (country, state, etc.)
b. Include any tours you might take, camping trips, safari, scuba diving, animal excursions, interesting opportunities, etc.
c. Describe the climate and attractions of your biome in your presentation. Make it sound like a place you would want to visit!
3. Group Presentation
a. All group members must participate by speaking during presentation.
b. You must mention all the above points.
c. Make eye contact with the audience, speak loud enough for the audience to hear, and try to memorize as much as possible.
4. Time on task, work ethic, overall participation will determine your individual grade plus the team scores for each part of this project.
