MOTION OF THE KNOXVILLE BAR ASSOCIATION REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO COMMENT

The Knoxville Bar Association ("ICBA"), by and through its President, Cheryl G. Rice, hereby moves this Honorable Court to extend the period for filing written comments regarding proposed amendmentto the Tennessee Rules No.ADM20200969.

The KBA has specific concerns regarding the proposed amendment to Rule 45.09 and seeks an extension of the comment period in order that it may have opportunity to (1) seek clarification from the Advisory Commission as to whether the proposed Rule intends to provide court clerks with discretion in any particular action to determine the appropriate method for issuing a subpoena and (2) to allow communication with and potential comment from the court clerks conference before commenting on the proposed change. The KBA submits that an extension of the comment period causes no prejudice and furthers the interests ofjustice.
