Due to our continued growth we have an opening for a Senior Network Engineer. This position is at our Corporate Headquarters located in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota (a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota).

Essential Functions:

• Design, plan, implement, document and troubleshoot commercial TCP/IP networks, with particular emphasis on network architecture, equipment selection and configuration, and the application of new technologies to network deployment.

• Recommend, quote and implement required network servers and software.

• Install, build, and maintain servers. (Web Servers, File and Print Servers, ERP Servers, Diver Server, Database Server, Terminal Server, and Mail Server).

• Setup and maintain internal DNS server and work with Internet vendor on the external server.

• Connect diverse systems to the network. (Windows (All versions), VMware, OS400, Linux, MPE/IX).

• Setup and support networks at all the locations.

• Recommend and help setup control system networks.

• Monitor network including servers for performance, reliability and security risks.

• Recommend, deploy, and monitor security software.

• Patch servers, switches, and routers.

• Recommend, quote, and implement network communication circuits (MPLS, Broadband, Fiber).

• Recommend and install disaster recovery strategies.

VM/Administration:

• Monitor current VM Network this includes SAN’s and VM servers.

• Review, recommend and implement upgrades to servers, SAN’s and software.

• Setup new VM Servers as requested.

• Setup new VM environments and test sites as needed.

• Keep up to date on changes to VM and offering by other VM vendors.

PC Support and Helpdesk:

• Assist in Help Desk overflow.

• Support Users.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Must be a strong communicator, both written and verbal.

• Must be detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills.

• Must have proven project planning skills.
