Warranted Environment Specification

This document covers the hardware and network requirements for CRIS solutions.

1 CRIS Workstations

The following minimum specification is required:

|  |CRIS Client Requirements |

|Processor |Intel Pentium 4 2.0Ghz (or equivalent) |

|Operating system |Windows XP with SP3 or Windows Vista (32bit/64bit) with SP2 or Windows 7 (32bit/64bit) with SP1. |

|Memory |Windows XP: minimum 1GB |

| |Windows Vista/7 32bit: minimum 2GB |

| |Windows Vista/7 64bit: minimum 3GB |

| |The above specification includes the minimum specification plus 512MB for Java to run a CRIS client. The above |

| |recommendation does not include any extra memory requirements of other software that may be in use with the CRIS |

| |software. Extra software typically used along with CRIS could be Dragon VR, Microsoft Office and PACS. |

| |We would recommend an extra 1 GB for Dragon VR on top of the minimum specification mentioned. When choosing a |

| |hardware specification please consider PACS and other software, such as Microsoft Office, in your requirements. |

| | |

| |Windows 32bit versions can handle a maximum of 3.5Gb and to go higher than this you need to use 64bit versions. |

| | |

| |Please also make sure any hardware in the workstation is also considered as on-board graphics cards can take |

| |memory for its own use and should be taken in to consideration. |

|Hard disk capacity |Minimum 2GB free space on installation. |

| |200MB for the CRIS launcher, 600MB for CRIS versions (depending on number of environments) |

|Display |Minimum 15 inch display running at a resolution of 1024 x 768. |

| |However a larger display with higher resolution is recommended. |

|Network card |Minimum 100Mbs Network card |

|Java Virtual Machine |CRIS 2.09.10 requires Java 1.5.0_11 |

| |In other instances the CRIS Launcher will manage the Java version internally. |

|Test Environment |Combination of; |

| | |

| |Windows XP SP3 with at least 2GB memory. |

| |Windows Vista with at least 3GB memory. |

| |Windows 7 64bit SP1 with at least 3GB memory. |

| |Each test is executed on at least one of these environments in each test cycle. |

2 Organisation Local Area Network

HSS highly recommend 1 gigabit connections on the local LAN. Where this is not possible 100 mega bit connections will be supported.

3 Wide Area Network Connectivity

The customer is responsible for ensuring all remote CRIS clients connect through a secure network connection.

Where high availability and resilience are being provided by data replication the customer and HSS will work together to configure the appropriate solution given the customers bandwidth and latency.

4 Firewalls

As part of the solution HSS will provide the customer with the firewall requirements for both local and remote application access.

5 Virtual Private Network

Where N3 connectivity is not possible HSS recommend VPN based connections for both HSS support services and providing application access to the customers CRIS users.

6 Bandwidth

Each CRIS client has a requirement for 2Mbps bandwidth.

HSS would recommend all traffic from CRIS is classified as transactional for QOS purposes.

We would expect latency to be below 100ms.

7 Dragon VR

Dragon VR 9.5 Medical and Dragon VR 11 will work on Windows XP 32bit.

Dragon VR 11 is required to work on Windows 7 32bit/64bit.

Dragon VR 11 is required to work on any 64bit system.

8 Windows 8

We have preliminary information that Java 1.5.0_11 will install and so will the HSS Launcher. This will allow CRIS to launch and work however no testing has been completed under this OS and therefore we cannot guarantee functionality of the system.
