TI Calculators and Resources

Cindy Aossey

Texas Instruments calculators are the standard in math classrooms. The TI-73 is most often the calculator of choice for middle school classrooms while the TI-83 plus and TI-84 plus are most often chosen for high school classrooms. The TI-83 plus and TI-84 plus are 100% keystroke-for-keystroke identical, although the TI-84 plus is faster with more memory storage and more preloaded applications. Cabri Jr. is preloaded on the TI-84 plus but can be downloaded at no cost to the TI-83 plus. This application and more can be downloaded from the TI website at .

Texas Instruments also offers tremendous resources to educators at their website in the Professional Development area. Teachers can find information about a variety of trainings, both in person and online. The online trainings are free and cover a variety of topics including Algebra topics for the TI-83 plus and TI-84 plus, Calculus topics for the TI-83 plus and TI-84 plus, Cabri Jr. for the TI-84 plus, Scientific Data collection and Analysis and the TI-Navigator.
