• Evaluated and implemented an electronic clinical documentation management system – CALIPSO; Summer 2011.

• Provided training to CDIS faculty and graduate students on the operation of CALIPSO, as well as with the revised departmental system of documenting clinical hours and competencies toward ASHA certification.

• Introduced a clinical educator self-evaluation tool on clinical instruction strategies, for clinical supervisors to implement voluntarily to improve clinical instruction. (2011);

• Departmental lead in maintaining Privacy and Security practices of our paper and electronic client medical records. Conducted audits each semester of current practices. (2010-present).

• Redesigned the CDIS new graduate clinical orientation program to meet the challenges of orienting larger cohorts with a broad diversity of skills and academic backgrounds. Orientation is 4 days in duration and contains face to face and online training modules. (summer 2011; summer 2013)

• Member, Program Review Self-Evaluation Study Committee. In conjunction with the Chair and one other faculty member, wrote the self-study for the Program Review which is scheduled in February of 2011. Spring and Summer, 2010.

• Provided on-site training to off campus practicum supervisors, covering the changes in certification and accreditation standards, as well as documenting student achievement and supervisor perceptions on preparedness (each academic term 2004-2010).

• Member, Spring Conference Committee. Attended planning meetings and provided input in preparation of the annual spring conference hosted by the CDIS Department (fall 2007).

• Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic website maintenance. (fall 2007-present).

• Chair, Proficiency Policy Committee. Lead a committee to write a policy and procedure statement based on revised 2008 CAA standards (fall 2007).

• Led administration and clinical activities for the Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation and Support (CARES). CARES officially began conducting autism assessments in September, 2007. Played a major role as community liaison; scheduled assessments; coordinated assessment teams; supervised clinical teams during assessment; managed the CARES budget; leadership role in development of the CARES Policy and Procedure manual (fall 2007-spring 2009).

• Developed graphics and layout for a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the mission and function of CARES. Administration in the College of Education and Department of Communication Disorders used this PowerPoint in their presentations to the academic Deans and potential donors (spring 2007).

• Developed marketing brochures and flyers in partnership with University Marketing for the CARES project. (fall 2007).

• Member of the Graduate Admissions Committee for the Department of Communication Disorders (2004-2007).

• Coordinated and scheduled teleconference sessions between off campus practicum supervisors and CAA site visitors to assist in verification of program standards (Spring 2007).

• Coordinated a meeting between the CAA site visitor team and members of the San Marcos, university, and clinic communities to assist with verification of program standards (Spring 2007).

• Coordinated clinical observation visits for Dr. Lim, visiting nurse educator, while he shadowed various faculty members in the Department of Communication Disorders (fall 2007).

• Team Leader of the SMCISD Parent Advisory and Resource Committee (PARC). This committee is charged with representing parents of, and special needs children, to the SMCISD Superintendent’s office. The committee works closely with the directors of Special Education to develop programs that support parents in the IEP and ARD processes. (2008-present).

• Regional Advisory Committee member representing Hays County of the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders. (2006-present).

• Volunteer with the Autism Society of Greater Austin. Lead effort with the Autism Cognate and accompanied 8 children with Autism to Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio (Spring 2012).

• Hays CISD district-wide speech and language screenings. Coordinated, managed, and supervised 4 clinical faculty members and 20 graduate student-clinicians executing approximately 325 screenings over 2 days. (2011)

Co-facilitator of 2 local support groups consisting of parents with special-needs children (Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, etc). Also participate as a guest presenter on selected topics (2005-present).

• Co-facilitated an 8 week parent training workshop for parents of developmentally delayed children, Summer and Fall 2004; Spring & Summer 2005.

• Participated in “Discovering disAbilities”. A day-long event at a San Antonio elementary school that focused on increasing sensitivity and acceptance of individual differences; Spring 2005, 2006; Fall 2008

• Guest Speaker at the local SERTOMA chapter luncheon, Spring 2005; Spring 2009.
