It’s essential that our teaching staff is equipped to meet the diverse needs of our students. ESL certification is required for your current teaching assignment because you: FORMCHECKBOX are a Pre K- 5th grade teacher who is not bilingually certified and there are English learners in your class FORMCHECKBOX are a 6th-12th grade teacher who teaches Reading or English Language Arts to English learnersYou must take and pass the ESL TExES Exam #154 by December 30, 2017.For grades Pre K-8,?all teachers who serve ELLs in a content-based model must be ESL certified. ?For an ESL Pull Out model, the ELA or Language Arts teacher must be ESL Certified to meet the linguistic needs of the ELLs. ?Other teachers may be sheltered instruction trained.??Manor ISD offers ESL Academies to help participants prepare to take and pass the ESL TExES Supplemental Exam #154. ?This class is offered each fall in September, in January and during the summer. ?You may register for the class on Eduphoria. ??To register for the TExES Exam: ?
