Opening a bar delimited file in Excel and Text Import Wizard
To retrieve the document, open excelOpen your file (remembering to select all files, see below)Follow the steps on the Text Import Wizard:2781300-161925Tick ‘Other’ and enter a ‘bar’ symbol [Shift + \ ]0254000You will notice in the preview pane that column lines have now been added. Select Next.If you wish to change the data format of a column before you import it, select the column in the ‘data preview’ section then select the data format from the ‘column data format’ section. Tip: This is particularly useful if you are exporting student numbers.
