Convert MTS files to MP4 with Adobe Media Encoder

Open Adobe Media Encoder CC. Illustration per IMC Mac desktop.

Drag MTS files into Queue Browser in Adobe Media Coder (can drag multiples files at once)

Set format to H.264 & preset to Match Source-High bitrate. The Output File is where you choose to store the MP4 file (pay attention to this location! You will need to find the MP4 file later). Click the GREEN ARROW to begin converting. Audio and video files will appear as it is converting; the final MP4 file will be located where you set the Output File.
