[pic]THE SALE OF STANDING TEAK TREES BY AUCTION IN MTIBWA FOREST PLANTATION AT MOROGORO AND LONGUZA FOREST PLANTATION AT TANGA

1. Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) intends to sale standing teak trees with a total volume of 2,684.175 cubic meters grown at Mtibwa and Longuza Forest Plantations in Turiani, Morogoro Region and Muheza, Tanga Region respectively. A total volume of 1,592.385 and 1091.79 cbm will be sold from Mtibwa and Longuza forest plantations respectively. The standing Teak trees which are grouped into felling couples will be sold through auction in accordance with the auctions procedures as stated under regulation 31(ii) of the Forest Regulation, 2004. The standing teak trees are sold as on “as is where is” basis and the selling entity shall have no further liability after the sales.

2. Interested firms/Individuals must submit his/her wishes and other information in a closed envelope indicating plantation name, compartment name, plot number and volume per plot as shown in table 1&2 below. Also, interested part has to submit copies of registration for sawmill and forest produce (2018/19), and the Tax Identification Number (TIN).

3. Auction will be held publically and in the presence of all buyers at the plantation Manager’s office on Monday 07th January, 2019 for Mtibwa Forest plantation and on Wednesday 09th January, 2019 at 10.30 for Longuza forest plantation and shall be conducted in accordance with the Forest Act Cap. 323.

4. Each felling couple/Plot will be auctioned separately basing on the price per cubic meter. The highest price offered by the buyer during the opening shall not hinder other buyers to offer the highest price than that is offered.

5. Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency invites interested buyers, to submit the needful documents to make them eligible for the Auction. Selections of plots and where to harvest should be done based on the following tables;

6. Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency will award the Auction winning certificate to the highest bidder in each felling plot/couple

7. All successful buyer should note that it is prohibited to export the logs as per regulation 50 (1) of the Forest Regulations of 2004.

8. Interested buyers may visit the site (felling plots/couples) at Mtibwa and Longuza Forest Plantations from 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs Monday to Friday except on public holidays. The Plantation Manager will provide additional information on site including harvesting conditions.

9. Interested buyers are supposed to read and understand clearly the harvesting guidelines provided in each plantation.

10. Floor (Minimum base) price per cubic meter is shown in Table 1 & 2 above to which VAT, CESS and LMDA are included.

11. The successful buyer shall pay 25% of the total value, which is non-refundable within three (3) working days and the remaining 75% shall be paid within fourteen days. Payments should be made through Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) by using Tigo or M-Pesa and/or National Microfinance Bank (NMB) or CRDB. Before payment the successful buyer will be provided with a bill by respective plantation Manager showing the amount to be paid.

12. The buyer shall submit evidence of the deposited amount not later than three days after payment.

13. The successful buyer is obliged to clear fell and remove the volume of trees awarded within two month (sixty days) after payment of the total value.

14. Deadline for submission of request is before 10:00 AM in all plantations. Late submissions will not be honoured
