For trainees completing UHN placements only the following is required to be fully registered:

Before You Arrive at UHN and Begin Your Placement Step 1: Register with University of Toronto An absolute requirement and must be completed before visiting UHN MedEd. Postgraduates must have a Confirmation of Registration indicating status as REGISTERED with PGME on POWER. Non-UofT Undergraduates must have their electives registered and confirmed with UofT.

Step 2: Register on UMLearns as a Medical Learner Create a profile as a Medical Learner on and submit all your UHN placement(s) for this academic year under "Rotation Details".

Step 3: Complete Training and Knowledge Test for EPR Access* The EPR for Providers Course can be completed online: You must submit a placement on UMLearns (Step 2) prior to completing EPR training. This will allow for your knowledge test results to be uploaded into the registration database. Failure to complete the training and online test may result in your inability to provide clinical service. *N.B. If you have used your EPR within the last 2 years your account can be reactivated without additional training. Contact the HELPDesk at (416) 340-4357 if you are uncertain if it has been more than 2 years since you last used EPR or to verify your level of access.

a) Trainees can choose to complete the course for EPR with or without Medication Order Entry. It is advisable to complete the training for EPR with Medication Order Entry, however, please confirm with your department if you are unsure which version of the course you should complete.

b) Research Trainees not involved in clinical service may complete the "Intro to EPR (Chart Review)" Course and follow the next steps laid out in the module.

c) Complete Course Completion Declaration Form and ID Verification Form. Accurate completion of these forms is required for you to receive EPR access.

A confirmation email from Digital Education will be generated indicating that you have successfully completed EPR training. You will be required to present this email as proof that you have passed the test and training when you arrive at UHN Medical Education.

When You Arrive at UHN for your placement visit Medical Education Complete your registration by presenting IN PERSON at either TGH MedEd Helliwell Centre (200 Elizabeth Street, Eaton Wing, Ground Floor near the Elizabeth St entrance) OR TWH MedEd West (750 Dundas St. West, 3rd Floor, Rm. 305). Registration Hours are Mon-Fri 800a-330p. We are closed all statutory holidays except July 1 when only TGH is open from 800a -1200p.

Step 4: Present a piece of photo ID. If you are a returning trainee and have a UHN Photo ID badge bring it with you for reactivation.

Step 5: For postgraduate trainees, present your Confirmation of Registration from PGME. This can be found on POWER. A copy on your phone is sufficient.

Step 6: If you have not done so from Step 2, you will be asked to register on UMLearns (). You must complete your profile as a Medical Learner and submit at least 1 placement for approval.

Step 7: Present email proof of EPR Course Completion from Step 3. If you have used EPR within the last 2 years (no exceptions) your account can be reactivated. Contact HELPDesk at (416) 340-4357 if you are unsure if you are eligible for reactivation. UHN Digital will grant EPR Access within 24 hours following your registration at MedEd

Pager: Receive requisition form to present to UHN Cashier's Office. For Clinical Fellows and Physician Assistants pagers are issued by their Department.

Scrubs: Pick up "Uniform Form" from MedEd or download online at Present completed form to the Cashier's Office UHN Cashier's Office: M-F TGH 830a ? 1200p & 100p-400p; TWH 805a-230p; PMCC 1000a-1200p & 130p-400p. Refundable deposit required. Retrieve your EPR ID and Password: 24 Hours after presenting confirmation to MedEd that you have completed the training an EPR account will be created for you (or your account be reactivated). Call HELPDesk (416) 340-4357 for your EPR ID and Password. If you call prior to the 24 hour period HelpDesk may not have processed your request for an EPR account yet and not have your information.

Dictation & CLiP: Apply online only after you have an EPR ID. Account activation takes 1-2 days, Mon to Fri. Complete a Dictation Access Form at on the INTRAnet (accessibly only at UHN): For technical problems call the HELP Desk at ext. 14-4357 or Transcription Services at 16-6000.

OneMail Account: You must have a OneMail (or secure hospital email) account to communicate about patients securely by email. Residents are not usually issued hospital accounts. Additional Information TIDs and UHN Email Accounts: Most trainees do not receive or need these accounts. If you require one, they are

requested via your own department, not MedEd. Mask Fit Testing: If not previously tested, visit occupational health at TGH 2EW Rm 269 (14-5035) or TGH 9MP Rm

303 (13-2539). Update your Mask Fit information on UMLearns. Parking Value Cards for residents on active rotation at UHN only: Visit MedEd to determine eligibility. Cards are

issued at the TGH Parking Garage only. You must present a letter of eligibility from TGH Med Ed to the parking office. A $50 refundable deposit required. Valid for parking at TGH and TWH only. VPN: Trainees can request VPN access can by completing a Network Access Request Form (NARF)*. You must complete the NARF exactly as indicated in the instructions "How to Apply for VPN". *The NARF is only available on the UHN Corporate Intranet. Lockers: Are available at TGH and the TWH West Wing Basement. Housestaff Lounge: Obtain Door Lock # from Med Ed.

IMPORTANT!!! For Pre Entry Assessment Program (PEAP) Residents & Fellows EPR access is given for your assessment period only. At the end of your assessment period or when your Confirmation of Registration shows you are fully registered for the remainder of your placement come to MedEd with your updated Confirmation of Registration from PGME for EPR account extension/reactivation.
