“Living - By The Book”

Living - By The Book

Text - 1 Thessalonians 2:13

1 Thessalonians 2:13- For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Introduction: Does God’s Word work within you? It sure was in those believers who received it in Thessalonica! It is amazing to see what will happen in the lives of believers who live by the Word of God. People who live by the book are often brought under scrutiny and called “narrow-minded.” They are lashed-out against has being ones who live bound to one book. A child of God cannot afford not to live by the book (God’s Word.) If we will live by the book, we will reap the results of living right. If we choose to live without it, then we will certainly reap the results of carnality.

*The phrase effectually worketh means: 1754 ἐνεργέω energeo {en-erg-eh'-o}

Meaning: 1) to be operative, be at work, put forth power 1a) to work for one, aid one,*
