The Basics of Investing

Currently offered through the continuing education departments of two post-secondary institutions in Alberta. It is generally a 6 hour course broken into 2 hrs/ week for 3 weeks on a weekday night, or 6 hours on a Saturday.

This course is designed to: Assist participants in understanding the investing process, provide impartial information and resources and provide a basis for future learning. (This course does not include investment advice, promote any financial products or companies, answer questions about specific investments, or discuss day trading strategies).

Examples and references to quotes and websites are used throughout the PowerPoint presentation. Additional books and handouts are also supplied to the students.
