Grandfathering Provision for Initial Certifications

A grandfathering provision is now available through June 2018 for individuals who meet the requirements as determined by the IACECP for the three initial certifications. IACECP charter members will receive a 3-year rate guarantee from the start of the open-testing process for any certification test should they not meet the grandfathering requirements.

Certification renewal requirements: every 3 years, obtain 30 hours of continuing professional education.

Certified Economic Crime Forensic Examiner (CECFE)

Possess a recognized financial certification/credential and five (5) years relevant experience. Recognized financial certifications may include: o Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) o Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI) o Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) o Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Other certifications may be submitted and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. OR

Ten (10) years relevant experience and 120 hours of approved training taken within the last three years. Note: IACECP membership and proof of documentation required. Proof could include but is not limited to a copy of your membership card, certificate, or acceptance letter. Administrative fee: $300 ($50 nonrefundable application fee and $250 due upon acceptance)

Certified Cyber Crime Examiner (CCCE)

Possess a recognized cyber certification/credential and five (5) years relevant experience. Recognized cyber certifications may include: o Certified Advanced Windows Forensic Examiner (CAWFE) o Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) o Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) o EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) o GCFA Certified Forensic Analyst o GCFE Certified Forensic Examiner Other certifications may be submitted and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. OR

IACECP Recognized Training Providers

The IACECP understands the importance for certification holders to stay informed and maintain proficiency and competency within the world of economic and cyber crime. This is why continuing education is required as part of certification renewal. By earning these continuing education credits and keeping your certification active, you're demonstrating a commitment to your field and career.

To keep IACECP certifications active, participants need to earn 30 hours of relevant continuing education every 3 years.
