What problem does your pilot seek to address? Who are the potential beneficiaries and other stakeholders? What are the inputs and activities, and what are the outputs? What does success look like after 12 months of funded research? How will your solution reach the market place? 2500 character limitThe proposed project is an electric two-wheeler, that can be made from recycled parts or old vehicle parts, which is powered by the most renewable source of energy that is the wind energy, and by human energy by pedalling motion in the vehicle so that the vehicle is independent of any external sources for its power requirement. In this vehicle, the Battery Split Technology (BST) is used, in which there will be two battery packs, for which when one pack discharges, the other will remain full charged and when the other pack discharges, the discharged pack will begin to charge from the wind energy or the pedalling energy or by both. This vehicle is built with the state-of-the-art technology, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) that keeps the user always connected to the internet for any online services like maps, and so on. The project aims to address the problem that occurs when using the conventional IC engine two-wheelers, which is the production of POLLUTANTS such as carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides and the problem that occurs when using the Electric two-wheelers, that is MORE TIME AND MONEY spent for charging the battery and also reduced range of travel distance. The potential beneficiaries are the common peoples who need a personal vehicle for transportation that is available at a less cost and also efficient as the conventional IC engine two-wheelers. The inputs of this project include recycled old vehicle parts, manpower, engineers with good knowledge in electrical, automobile and mechanical field, and other primary parts to construct the vehicle. The activities include the initial design and analysis as per the requirement, then determining parts, material and components for the vehicle, then with the help of a prototype, the vehicle construction will begin and testing will be done. Once the prototype is successful in all parameters, the actual vehicle construction will begin. The output will be an electric two-wheeler that is designed according to the parameters and testing will be done and corrections will be made as per the test results. After 12 months of funded research, a fully functional electric two-wheeler will be successfully launched for the people to use them for their transportation purposes. Our solution will reach the market place as an electric two-wheeler alternate to the IC engine two-wheelers, as a product for the customers to buy and even as a Pay – and – Use vehicle for public transportation purpose.12.What is ‘technological’ about your proposed solution and why might this be appropriate to the challenge areas?1000 character limitThe technology used here is the wind harnessing method by the VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE (VAWT), that will be located where there is more air flow so that the wind will propel the turbine and as a result, there will be power generated for charging the battery. Another technology is the pedalling energy in which, there will be pedals connected that can be used to propel the vehicle and also to charge the battery by converting the pedalling motion (rotational motion) into electrical energy for battery charging. Also, the Battery Split Technology (BST) is used in which we will employ two battery packs so that when one pack discharges, the other will remain fully charged and when the fully charged pack discharges, the discharged battery will begin to charge by the wind energy or by the pedalling energy or by both. By employing these technologies, the two-wheeler becomes independent of the external power sources for its power requirements.13.Is your proposed solution a response to the impacts of COVID-19, or an effort to contain the pandemic? If so, please explain. 1000 character limit MAYBE. Because of the fact that due to the COVID-19, public transportation was not allowed for use all over the world. Due to this, people who relied on public transportations like buses, trains for reaching their work place were affected very much and they can’t purchase a personal two-wheeler due to the high cost of the vehicle. Thus, in considering this point, the proposed project will be very helpful for the people by providing a transporting medium at a low cost than the IC engine two-wheelers to meet their everyday needs.14.Does your proposed solution contribute to combatting climate change or promoting a greener planet? This proposed solution helps in promoting a greener planet by recycling the old two-wheeler parts, that helps in greatly reducing the carbon footprints and also by using the wind energy and human energy as its primary source of power, that makes this project independent of external power sources, and most importantly, this project reduces the production of polluting elements like the carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, that are harmful and toxic to the living beings.15.How is your proposal relevant to the development challenges of India? 1000 character limitOne of the major problems in India is the pollution caused by the IC engine vehicles. Due to this, major cities like New Delhi tops the chart in being the most polluted city in the world. Because of this drawback, many people are affected from health problems like asthma, tuberculosis, breathing issues, and even lung cancer. Another important fact is that, India is getting prepared for introducing Electric Vehicles for the consumers, but people are not preferring them because of the need to charge them for a long time, which is very high than the minutes spent in filling the fuel tank in fuel stations. Thus, to reduce this effect of pollution, the people must be encouraged for using the Electric Vehicles as their daily vehicle. For achieving this, our proposed project will be very helpful. With the introduction of our project in India, we could encourage the people to switch to electric vehicles that will help in reducing the pollution and save our environment.16.What consideration have you made of gender in developing your concept? Could your project address gender inequality or other kinds of inequality? 1000 character limitThere is no such thing as Gender Inequality in our concept. Our concept development will not encourage gender inequality as we always believe that men and women are equal and are capable of achieving anything that they want. Our concept development will require only knowledge and skills, we will not give preference to only one gender.
