Friday 1st October

Arrival.

19.00 Welcome Dinner in Hotel Kühler Krug: Informal evening and introduction of new members.

Saturday 2nd October

09.00 Welcome from the Chairman: Steve Bell.

Presentation of the programme and domestic arrangements: Doris Kocher.

09.30 Bjorg Eiriksdottir and Gudmundur Kristmundsson will present their ideas for the 5th International Storyline Conference to be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2012. They will also list questions for discussion in groups after coffee. It is hoped that this will assist them in covering the many interests reflected by the wide experience of the Golden Circle members.

11.30 Feedback and general discussion.

11.45 Jeff Creswell and Shelly Othus of Storyline Design tell of their experiences as organisers of the 4th International Storyline Conference in Portland State University, Oregon, USA , in 2009.

12.15 Lunch

13.15 Lea Nakrst, Storyline Slovenia, describes her work.

13.35 Karen Margrethe SØrensen describes a Storyline based on Emil’s Story by Astrid Lindgren.

14.00 Coffee

14.30 Excursion. Visit to Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl, a famous wine producing area near the French border. Guided tour at the local winery.

Sunday 3rd October

Short presentations from Serkan Guney, Director of Curriculum, Avrupa College, Istanbul, and Sule Tepetas, PhD Student, Ankara University, Ankara.

09.40 `You learn more when it's fun´: Storyline and the young language learner.

Sharon Ahlquist, Kristianstad University, Sweden.

Storyline International is an organisation supporting the development of the Storyline approach in a critical and innovative way by sharing on-going research, resources, curriculum development and applications of the method.
