The Ability of God within a Man“There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge, both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought.” – Napoleon HillFAITH is the “eternal elixir” which gives life, power, and action to the impulse of thought!FAITH is the starting point of all accumulation of riches!FAITH is the basis of all “miracles,” and all mysteries, which cannot be analyzed by the rules of science!FAITH is the only known antidote for all FAILURE!FAITH the element, the “chemical” which, when mixed with prayer, gives one direct communication with Almighty God.ALL of LIFE comes in the form of an idea.An IDEA is created through IMAGINATION.FAITH must be mixed with the IDEA.A PLAN must be formed for the transformation of the IDEA into the physical realm. The IDEA must be put into action to give the idea LIFE.The PLAN must be followed through with PERSISTENCE backed with firm DECISION.The way of success must be prepared by a BURNING DESIRE for success.“Repetition of affirmation of orders to your subconscious mind is the only known method of voluntary development of the emotion of faith.” – Napoleon Hill“Today, man is the only power on this earth. God and Satan influence him, but they do not exercise power here. Both have to work through men. Man’s authority and power can operate in the positive or the negative, depending upon their source. God is positive, Satan is negative, and the influence of one or the other will be exerted. We are affected by the fall, and the thoughts we receive will eventually be expressed through words.” – Dr. Leo Natale, (When Soul and Spirit Agree, page 12)Man’s tongue is the vehicle of faith that gives power to a thought.Proverbs 18:21 NKJV21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,And those who love it will eat its fruit. Three important things must be recognized in Proverbs 18:21:There is death, and death is negative and destructive – its author is Satan. There is life, and life is positive, good and fulfilling. ALL good things come from God.There is power, and power is in the tongue. The tongue is the vehicle of thought that will bring forth the power of good or evil into the physical realm.Understanding the Makeup of ManMan is a spirit being. He has a soul, and his spirit and soul operate from his physical being, the body. The soul of man is also comprised of three areas: his conscious mind, his preconscious mind, and his subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the part of the soul that is aware of what is happening at the present time. It has only the ability to comprehend and receive information, it does not maintain the memory. The preconscious mind is aware of all the surrounding conditions when the conscious mind is operating. The preconscious mind is the part of you where your memory is located. It memorizes everything from the environment that is around you, such as sounds, sights, and sales. The preconscious mind memorizes names, dates, scriptures, etc. The preconscious mind has memory banks, and can be used extensively if trained and disciplined properly. It can store and recall details at any given time, much like a computer. The subconscious mind is the very basis of man’s life. The Bible calls the subconscious mind “the heart of man.” The heart of man is the center of man’s intelligence, emotions, and will.Knowing How the Heart of Man FunctionsMatthew 12:34 NKJV34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45 NKJV45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Here’s how the heart of man functions. The conscious mind receives all the information through the body senses, which are seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching. The details, such as size, distinctiveness, depth, and awareness development are passed to the preconscious mind where it is stored in the memory. The intelligence, which is all the data that is processed in the preconscious mind, is then passed into the subconscious mind or what the Bible calls the “heart of man.”The constant processed accumulation of this causes the subconscious mind to produce a picture like experience. This is imagination. This experience will develop according to the familiarity of the data. If it is repeated over and over again, the heart will believe it and develop confidence (faith) in it.Faith is an experience, and the seed of this experience begins in the heart. The more distinctive the picture, the more powerful the experience. The experience now becomes real inside of you, and will cause the emotional part of your heart operate. The emotional part of your heart will produce feeling, which will result in the will – the power source – producing or manifesting the experience in the physical realm.Joshua 1:8 NKJV8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. The subconscious mind, (the chemical laboratory in which all thought impulses are combined, and made ready for translation into physical reality), makes no distinction between constructive and destructive thought impulses. It works with the material we feed it, through all of our impulses. The subconscious mind will translate into reality a thought driven by FEAR just as readily as it will translate into reality a thought driven by COURAGE or FAITH.The pages of medical history are rich with illustrations of cases of “suggestive suicide.”In a Midwestern city, a man by the name of Joseph Grant, a bank official, “borrowed” a large sum of the bank’s money without the conceit of the directors. He lost all of the money through gambling. One afternoon, the Bank Examiner came and began to check the accounts. Grant left the bank, took a room in a local hotel and when they found him, three days later, he was lying in bed, wailing and moaning, repeating over and over these words, “My God this will kill me! I cannot stand the disgrace.” In a short time he was dead. The doctors pronounced the case, one of “mental suicide.”“A man becomes calm in the measure that he understands himself as a thought – evolved being. For such knowledge necessitates the understanding of others as the result of thought, and as he develops a right understanding, and sees ever more clearly the internal relations of tings by the action of cause and effect, he ceases to fuss, fume, worry, and grieve. He remains poised, steadfast, serene.” – James Allen, As A Man Thinketh“A particular train of thought persisted in, be it good or bad, cannot fail to produce its results on the character and circumstances. A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances.” – James Allen, As A Man Thinketh“The world steps aside for the man who knows where he is going.” – James Allen“Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Its presence is an indication of ripened experience, and of a more than ordinary knowledge of the laws and operations of thought.” – James Allen, As A Man Thinketh“They who have no central purpose in their life fall an easy prey to petty worries, fears, troubles, and self-pitying, all of which are indications of weakness, which lead, just as surely as deliberately planned sins (though by a different route), to failure, unhappiness, and loss, for weakness cannot persist in a power evolving universe.” - James Allen, As A Man Thinketh“All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.” – James Allen, As A Man Thinketh ................
