I. We Confess Christ by Acknowledging Him with our Lips. (Rom. 10:9)

A. "Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus"

Romans 10:9-10, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

B. Talking about our newfound faith is normal. C. "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so" (Ps. 107:2)

Matt. 12:34 For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Romans 10:11, For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." Or shall not be ashamed! (KJV)

D. Peter and John couldn't keep quiet about Christ.

- Acts 4:18-20, So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

- 19But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.

- 20For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."

E. New converts are often the best evangelist.

F. We should never be ashamed to speak of Jesus to others.

II. Confessing Christ by Baptism (Matt. 28:18-20)

A. The importance of baptism in the Great Commission. B. Baptism was public and important to the early church. C. Baptism is a picture of the Gospel.
