You are to ensure that your assignment components connect with the major themes that we have reviewed throughout this unit.Please choose one item from each of the three areas. Be sure to mention the theme of the Divided Community and inequality between the classes.Gangs have many pros and cons but one thing is for sure; honour is something that is respected no matter what. Write about how the greasers stick up for one another and sacrifice themselves to help each other out.We all have a Ponyboy inside us as we all share similar values and worries and hopes. The real issue in this novel is how some teens have to grow up too quick when faced with adult world problems. How has the problems faced by the characters in this novel led to the loss of childhood innocence?Many teenagers are struggling with discovering who they truly are just like Ponyboy during this novel. Write about how teenagers today are faced with the challenge of personal identity and group identity. You may want to mention the rapid growth of technology and the breakdown of the traditional family unit. Visual – Create a visual representation of the introductory setting in The Outsiders. All members of the group must participate to earn full marks. You may choose to record a video of your presentation that will be shown to the class.Write and perform a theme song for the novel. This could be a southern-style rock and roll tune, country music, rap…you decide.Create a puppet show or act out 3 or 4 chapters. This work must include a script, puppets and background. This book has been banned in the past due to portrayal of gang violence, underage smoking and drinking, strong language, slang usage, and depiction of family dysfunctions.
