Unit Outline for Lord of the Flies

Essential Questions: At what point do humans cross the dividing line of civilization and savagery? How can a close examination of the characters in Lord of the Flies reveal symbols found within the novel? What is allegory and how can we apply the symbols we have discussed to reveal the allegory in Lord of the Flies?

You will need your copy of Lord of the Flies with you in class every day! No book=Detention!
