The Outsiders Pre-Reading Activity: The Sixties

 

This is a two part pre-reading activity. Your task is to first research the 1960’s, then to present the information in a Keynote/PowerPoint Presentation. Remember, The first slide is the “Title” slide. For each slide, you need to include the link (url) to the information in small font on the bottom of that slide.

 

You can use any links you prefer; however, the following are links that provide specific information about decade of the sixties. Each student must find and identify items from the following list.  When identifying items from the list, you must also include the web link for that item.  You should copy and paste each item, information, and link into a word document. This page will be the notes for your presentation. You must locate all of the following:

 

·        Five bands from the sixties

·        Five slang words with definition

·        Four political events

·        Five major sporting events

·        Three racially motivated incidents

·        Three popular cars

·        Five popular foods

·        Five television shows or “important” movies
