In addition, students will write the lyrics to one song that incorporates the ideas of the philosopher, any biographical information, and modern day applications. 3) Students have two class periods (and a weekend) to do research on their philosophers, work on their CD artwork, and write their song lyrics. 4. Students must hand in a copy of their song lyrics the day before the “CD Release Party” so that all of the lyrics can be run off for the entire class.5. Students present their philosophers ideas to the class. The group members will discuss important facts about their philosopher, present their CD cover and song list, and perform the song they wrote while the rest of the class takes notes. Summary Activity/AssessmentStudents will select one of the Enlightenment philosophers (it cannot be the one that they did their presentation on) and will write a letter to them evaluating and responding to their ideas as well as discussing how they have been impacted by this person’s ideas. You have been hired as the new public relations manager for ENLIGHTENMENT RECORDS. You have been assigned to one of the labels of a newly signed pop group from European history who is desperate need of a public image makeover. For these artists, you must do the following:1) Create a new name that is more marketable, but still maintains some of their character (hint: this requires you to group your monarchs/thinkers together by a common attribute or time period).2) Create a cover for their upcoming CD that includes the title and artwork.3) Create a back cover for the CD that includes the list of songs and any other information you think would help sell more product.4) Create an autobiographical song that showcases these monarchs’/thinkers’ ideas. The lyrics to this song must be typed out and handed in to the CEO of ENLIGHTENMENT RECORDS. 5. Your new artist must perform his/her new song at the CD release party to be held this Monday afternoon. Good Luck! ................
