Leadership Communication Manual and Presentation for Group Leaders

Throughout this course, you will work collaboratively to create a training manual and presentation for group leaders in an organization. Your manual will include core terminologies, techniques, and applications for effective group communication and leadership. This guide and presentation will be used for a train-the-trainer session on best practices for team leader communication.

Week Two: Selection of Criteria

Each team must identify and describe six of the core components of leadership communication in groups.

Write a 350- to 500-word overview of the six core components that are most important to successful leadership communication in groups. Your team will use this as the basis for the Leadership Communication Manual and Presentation for Group Leaders, due in Week 5.

Week Three: Annotated Bibliography

This week, each Learning Team must prepare an annotated bibliography with at least 12 sources from peer-reviewed journals to prepare for your Leadership Communication Manual and Presentation for Group Leaders, due in Week 5.

Visit the Center for Writing Excellence for assistance with annotated bibliography format.

Create an annotated bibliography to organize your research for the Leadership Communication Manual.

Research peer-reviewed articles and research studies from within the last 5 years that focus on business norms and best practices that support your team’s six selected criteria for successful leadership communication in groups.

Select and read a minimum of 12 sources to a maximum of 15 sources for the bibliography.

Write a 100- to 150-word descriptive and critical annotation summarizing and interpreting each article and describing the best practices regarding the areas your team has selected, including goals and objectives, roles, responsibility, ethics, diversity, and critical thinking. Include the research methodology (how the data or result was obtained) for each research study.

Format your bibliography consistent with APA guidelines.

Week Four: Outline and Overview

Write an outline detailing the main elements of your final Leadership Communication Manual, based on the six criteria you identified in Week 2. Include a 250- to 350-word overview of who the guide is designed for (the audience), its main objective, and broad areas to be discussed. This overview will be included in your team’s final Leadership Communication Manual for Group Leaders.

Week Five: Manual and Presentation for Group Leaders: Final Project

Leadership Communication Manual

Write a 3,150- to 3,500-word leadership communication manual to be used as a training tool to educate an organization’s team leaders on best practices for successful leadership communication in teams, based on the six criteria your team selected in Week 2.

Include at least 12 to 15 sources from peer-reviewed journal sources from the annotated bibliography you submitted in Week 3 and any additional research.
