Please direct any questions to Ms. Mueller via email (molly.mueller@)

Summer enrichment tasks:

Step 1: Read each story Step 2: Complete a graphic organizer for each story Step 3: Complete the comprehension questions for each story Step 4: Fill out the triple venn diagram comparing and contrasting each short story Step 5: Complete the one page response writing assignment

One-Page Written Reflection Directions: Select the question below that is of greatest interest to you. Answer that reflection question in a typed, well-organized one-page response that is formatted according to MLA guidelines. It would be helpful if you noted which question you are answering in your heading. Not sure what MLA is or what the requirements are? Check out the MLA section of the Purdue Online Writing Lab website.

Reflection Questions: (Select One)

1. How do humans know the difference between what is right and wrong? 2. Is it ever morally acceptable to resort to violence? 3. What makes human beings different from all other species on Earth?

Think about these questions as you read. You have been provided with comprehension questions for each short story to help you tease apart the deeper literary meaning of each work. I suggest completing these questions before you choose a theme, and before you write your final one page reflection.
