SUMMER CAMPS 2010

Paramount Study offers the choice of three summer camp themes. In cooperation with well established partners in the arts, language and sports fields, Paramount Study open its doors to the Montreal community. These themes will bring diversities tailored for the cultural development, interest thus assure a constant motivation to your child ability. The three themes are:

• Arts - Summer camp

• Chinese – Summer camp

• Exploravision – Summer camp

CAMPS SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

SCHEDULES OF DAY-CARE SERVICES

Additional amount of $5 per schedule per child paid either:

• in advance (please fill in the register form in the section “Payment methods), or;

• in cash same day as needed.

• morning schedule 7:45 am to 9:00 am;

• end of day schedule 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

PAYMENT METHODS

For the period(s) requested, payment is made in full either by cash or personal check. Please fill in the annexes attached to the registration form and register each child separately.

Note that transportations/lunches/beverages are not included.

Fees include:

• 1 Paramount T-shirt per child;

• museum fee for students registered to the Arts Summer camp;

• weeks 3 and 6 (according to the weather) one cultural day outing activity

• if necessary, voluntary parents will be contacted;

• choice of the day outing to be announced;

• the activities could be:

o Biodome/Parc Olympique/Botanical garden;

o Village d’Antan de Drummondville;

o Cosmodome at Laval, or;

o Planétarium of Montreal.

Studying arts not only develops a student's brain, but also develops his/her critical thinking and cognition. It can also make the students appreciate life and the people around them.

Paramount Study, Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, and The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts cooperate to teach and help students discover different arts topics.

MORNING ACTIVITY

The art summer camp's curriculum offers per age groups 3 hours required course daily in the morning during the session

Required course

Group 5-8 years

kid drawings, handicraft, sketching, color. The topics include: artistic language, four seasons color.

Group 9-12 years

sketching, color, landscape sketching, artistic connoisseurship. The topics include: artistic language, four seasons color, decorative art.

Group 13-17 years

sketching, color, landscape sketching, artistic connoisseurship. The topics include: artistic language, four seasons color, decorative art, modern art.

Elective courses

Chinese, math, dance, cooking, reading, stories telling for all, sports and outdoors activities

CHINESE LANGUAGE CAMP

In cooperation with College Platon - 51 years language teaching experience.

Why study Chinese?

1. China has one of the world’s oldest and richest continuing cultures, spanning over 5000 years ;

2. China is the most populous nation in the world, with 1.28 billion people ;

3. Mandarin Chinese is spoken by 873 million speakers, making it the most widely spoken first language in the world. One fifth of the planet speaks Chinese ;

4. in addition to the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan, Mandarin Chinese is also spoken in the important and influential Chinese communities of Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, and Mongolia ;

5. China has now become the second largest economy in the world ;

6. China is one of largest trading partners of the world.

Remember these two facts

1. Currently, Mandarin Chinese is spoken by over 1 billion people around the world, about one fifth of the global population;

2. Each year, more and more students around the world whose mother tongue is not Mandarin are studying it with enthusiasm and success. If they all can learn it, so can you!

INNOVATION EXPLORATION SUMMER CAMP

Tomorrow's Innovation Comes From Today's Young Minds.

GROUPE

From 5 to 17 years

EXPLORAVISION AWARDS 2011

Camp focuses on Exploravision Awards 2011.

First prize is $10,000. This summer camp guides the student to experiment different scientific disciplines, as well as study leadership and organizing faculty.

Since the Exploravision project requires time for completion for its main vision, students are required to register for at least 4 weeks of camp. Space is limited; only 4 students per group. Coaches are science and technology specialists.

MOTIVATING ACTIVITY

One day outing is included. This activity can be either:

o Biodome/Parc Olympique/Botanical garden;

o Cosmodome at Laval, or;

o Planétarium of Montreal.
