|This is a beautiful story about friends...before we start you can do it....I want to | | |

|While I am reading, enjoy this story and think about your friends. Are you like Henry| | |

|and Amy... opposites or are you the same? And think about why you are friends? What | | |

|makes a good friendship? | | |

|READ ALOUD...What was Henry’s and Amy’s message about friendship? What made their | | |

|friendship special? | | |

| | | |

|Last week...we were talking about what makes being a ‘good friend’. Who can remember | | |

|some of the ideas we discussed about being a good friend? | | |

| | | |

|Explain that a friend is a person they like because that person treats them nicely | | |

|and because they have fun when they are with that person. | | |

| | | |

|State that friends can be boys and girls. | | |

|Procedure: 2.30pm | | |

|Students to be seated on floor. | | |

|Discuss and explain the worksheet ‘Felix Friendly and Bartholomew Bad Friend’. | | |

|Read aloud the behaviours listed on the worksheet and ask different children to | | |

|respond to the questions. | | |

|Instruct students to write the letter F next to Friendly Felix actions Felix would | | |

|do, and the letter B next to unfriendly actions Bartholomew would do. | | |

|Ask students to add any important friendly or unfriendly behaviours that are not | | |

|listed. | | |

|Discuss the characteristics of good friends. | | |

|Once this worksheet is discussed...explain the next student worksheet. | | |
