Yoga 11 Gratitude Journal Name ______________

Block ______________

“Today is the day I have waited for all my life! On these pages I will share my feelings. I will share my thoughts. I will find a sense of peace. I will be grateful.”

It isn’t always easy to be grateful for the things in our life. Sometimes life gets difficult and we don’t feel that there is anything to be grateful or happy about. Sometimes we get busy and forget to acknowledge that there are things to be grateful about. This exercise is to help you develop an awareness and sense of peace that comes with being grateful for the small – and big – things in your life.

For the Thanksgiving weekend, at the end of each day (or the start!) write down at least three things for which you are grateful! You can use what is provided to write your thoughts in or be creative in what you use as your journal!

Sometimes it is the little things that we encounter every day that are the hardest to see! That is what this journal is all about! Some ideas to get you started!

I feel good about….

People who touched my life …

What I did to brighten someone’s day…

Goals and ideas for an even better tomorrow…

Small things in life for which you are grateful:

The sun coming out on cloudy day

Seeing the first flower of spring

The unconditional love of your pet

Thoughts on your family…

Thoughts on your friends…

At the end of your four days of journaling, reflect and answer the following questions:

1. How has keeping a gratitude journal made you feel?

2. Have you begun to notice changes in your life as a result of acknowledging how grateful you are? If so what kind of changes?

3. Can you begin to see how gratitude and yoga are inter-related? Explain
