THE EMMAUS NEWSLETTER - Columbus IN Emmaus

THE EMMAUS NEWSLETTER Volume 15 Issue 5

Columbus Indiana Area Emmaus Community, Inc. May 2007

Letter to the Community:

The Walk to Emmaus does not end with the weekend! The good news is that you can take all the love and the things you learned home with you. Putting it into practice is what it is all about. Pray that God will use you to serve in some special way in your local church. Find a need and fill it. You can also share the experience with others. Sponsorship is still the most important job in the Emmaus Community.

Your Fourth Days may be hard at times, but you can always remember your Walk to Emmaus and the message of God’s love to see you through. No one can take that away from you no matter what happens. You can keep the feeling fresh in your mind by working on a walk or flight. Seeing things from the other side has a unique joy of its own. Since you have been over-flowing with God’s love, it feels wonderful to share it with others.

You also do not have to go it alone. By coming to the Gatherings and Hoots, you can keep the friendships you made on the walk strong. You can also make a lot of new friends. God’s love is a common bond between all of the Emmaus Community members. There are reunion groups that you can join to keep you accountable. If a reunion group is not available, start your own. There are many opportunities that the Emmaus Community makes available to continue walking with Jesus. I pray that you will all enjoy participating in this wonderful ministry.

DeColores,

Gary Fuquay

Pilgrim’s Comments from Walk #63 and Walk #64 Closings

I have had a glimpse of the depths of the riches of God – God has re-established the course He has determined for my life – I am totally spent and totally emotionally overwhelmed – one thing He has taught me is that I am definitely not alone – I’ve done a lot of blubbering this weekend – I got a chance to just be ‘Jim’ with Christ – Wow! What an exciting weekend! – I saw the face of God – Thursday night quiet time ought to include snoring – The experience has been unbelievable – This week I am accepting Him as LORD of my life – I’m still trying to process what has happened this weekend – I’ve had a void for a really long time. Something was keeping me from going to the next level and I thought it was everyone else, but it was ME. – I’ve received a sense of boldness – My wife is coming next weekend, and now I know something she doesn’t! My cup runneth over – I’m going to live better, love better, and serve better – Words cannot describe candlelight, I was blown away – Every time I turned around, I saw Jesus and I pray that people will see Jesus in me. – I’ve never been shown so much love in all my life! – Last night at candlelight, I thought I had died and gone to heaven – You can’t put it into words – I have to share what I have been given because it’s no longer about me. – I’ve learned that you don’t need to travel a great distance to see the face of God. – It’s just awesome! – Candlelight was just a taste of heaven! – The Lord has blessed me so much – His presence has been overwhelming – I gave up my pride this weekend – It’s up to God to make the changes needed – To be a part of the manifestation of Jesus has been the most incredible part of these 3 days – I intend to run with my Lord! – God is SO GOOD – The love is overwhelming – There are no words to really explain these last 3 days – I plan on living by what God has for me to do instead of what I plan to do – When I walked around those people last night (candlelight), I saw a little bit of heaven. – This weekend a terrible burden has been lifted from me and I know that I am not alone. I learned that the Lord has been with me since before I was born. – I have learned that God is an awesome God, and I don’t have to do things alone anymore – My main goal in coming on this Walk was to get closer to Christ, but I found so much more – I’m here because my spiritual battery has run down, but now I am ready to go and serve Him! – My favorite hymn is “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and I found it this weekend – I came here with my brakes on and Thursday night I was sure I was right! It all came together when I heard the song about ‘Whom shall I send?’
