Responses are due March 13, 2020.Will there be a location supplied for this training or will that be part of the costs built into the proposal??Location provided by Commerce.Will food/beverages need to be built into the proposal for participants of the training?Yes. If you want you can provide two quotes. One with and one without. Are the commerce members from the same department or different departments? If different, which departments?Different departments and not yet known. We will ask employees to sign up for the class. What is the culture?like around this change? Are employees excited about this process or is there going to be some resistance we may want to plan for?Employees who participate in the class will be excited. It’s voluntary. What is the makeup of attendees in terms of professional levels? Will there be senior level individuals along with front facing roles or will the attendees be on the same professional level?Different levels. We will ask people in the agency to volunteer for the training. Supervisors, managers, and front line staff all can participate. Where did your agencies interest in this training originate?from? UK Double Diamond? Stanford D School? IDEO? Although they are all essentially the same, we would like to know because this will help us visually present the material in the preferred format.Stanford D School. Have you ever done any training?like this before or will this be the first? We want to know how familiar staff are with the concept.?A couple staff have used the concepts and participated in design thinking. Most will be new. Our agency teaches the Lean toolbox. Staff will have the concept of customer focus and some general tools. What are the roles and skillsets of training participants?We have a couple staff who have exposure to design thinking. Most will have no exposure. We could have managers, supervisors, and line staff participating. Staff have exposure to Lean. Some roles maybe people Who run programs in CommerceWho lead improvement effortsMeeting facilitators What kinds of community engagement opportunities might you be using design thinking for?In improving our programs. We have many opportunities we can use design thinking at different levels. Commerce offers over 100 programs.Can all 25 folks be committed for the 1-2 day experience?I hope so. I am going to require it. That said, sometimes things come up with life. Are there any specific community engagement scenarios we can use as a real case study?I hope we can get a participants’ program to volunteer. I would rather use a real life example for the class. People will feel better about solving a problem Commerce is facing. Are there any expected materials we should plan for (other than the ones we would recommend)?I was relying on the vendor to make suggestions. I do want staff to be able to have tools and maybe templates to take with them to use as tools. It would be nice if they don’t have to recreate the wheel after the class. What kind of exposure to design thinking have participants had in the past?See question 7.Are there opportunities for engaging specific community members in the training as well – to help participants gain empathy?I hope we can get a participant’s program to volunteer. I would rather use a real life example for the class. People will feel better about solving a problem we are facing. I want to make sure we build this in ahead of time to give enough time for interviews. But I am sure we can. With regard to the 3 day training, will there be a location supplied for this training or will this be part of the costs built into the proposal?We will supply the room. We didn’t know how many days the training would need to be. We just knew we didn’t want longer than three days. In addition to that, will food/beverages be a cost allowed to be built into the proposal for participants of the training?See question 2.We do not have 10 years’ experience, but we have significant experience training in Design Thinking and working with schools and businesses in developing their expertise in Design Thinking for the last four years. Would we be disqualified without 10 years’ experience?Unfortunately yes. We included it in the minimum qualifications. Are there any specific topics within design thinking or human centered design that you want to be sure are included in the training?Empathy, affinity mapping, tree diagrams, general tools for design thinking, easy to implement for staff. Sizing to your project. Can you provide examples of some of the roles of Commerce staff who will attend the training?See question 8.Will you please consider evaluating fixed fees for training rather than hourly rates? Our training catalog is available at a flat rate per class per day.?Yes ................
