CRUNCH TIME Three weeks and either five or six games remain for all 12 American Athletic Conference teams, and all 12 will take to the floor this coming weekend.

The first of two regular-season meetings between first place UConn and second place USF is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET, when the Huskies travel to Tampa. The teams have met three times in every season of American Athletic Conference competition thus far, including four meetings in the conference championship title game.

UCF will look to become the fifth team to reach seven league wins in a key matchup with Cincinnati on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. The Bearcats are seeking the season sweep of the Knights after previously earning an 81-64 win on Jan. 12.

REMAINING ON WATCH Four American Athletic Conference players remain in contention for national awards as several national watch lists narrow this week. UConn's Crystal Dangerfield, Megan Walker and Christyn Williams were three of 30 named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason List on Tuesday; UConn joins Oregon as the only two institutions with three names remaining.

Dangerfield (Nancy Lieberman Award), Williams (Ann Meyers Drysdale Award) and Olivia Nelson-Ododa (Lisa Leslie Award) additionally were named to the Top 10 in the Basketball Hall of Fame/WBCA's position awards. Two American players, UConn's Megan Walker and Temple's Mia Davis, are among 10 names still in the running for the Cheryl Miller Award.

MUST-SEE For the third time this season, UConn participated in the NCAA's highest-attended single game, this time at South Carolina on Monday. The Gamecocks and Huskies hosted a sellout crowd of 18,000 at Colonial Life Arena - the most in attendance for a women's game so far this season by over 4,000.

In USF's lone game of the week, Harvey tied her career-high, dropping 25 points in the Bulls' dominating 99-51 victory over Temple. The sophomore went 7-of-10 from the field, with all of her field goals coming from beyond the arc for a career-high in treys. Harvey also shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line and dished out a pair of assists with two steals in just 28 minutes on the floor.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Elena Tsineke ? Fr. ? G ? USF

Tsineke earned her second Freshman of the Week honor this season, tying teammate Harvey with a game-high 25 points in USF's Sunday win over Temple. The guard's total set a new career-high, as she buried 21 of her points in the first half alone. Tsineke went 8-of-18 from the floor with a trio of 3-pointers, and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line. She rounded out her line with three rebounds and four assists.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS Of last season's 16 American Athletic Conference First, Second and Third Team All-Conference honorees, 10 return for the 2019-20 season. Four of those returners were First Team nods last season, including UCF's Kay Kay Wright, Cincinnati's IImar'I Thomas, UConn's Crystal Dangerfield and Temple's Mia Davis.

SIX TO WATCH Six American players from three teams (UCF, UConn, Temple) were named to their respective positional award Watch Lists in the preseason. It's the second highest total for the conference in the three-year history of the Starting Five awards and the first time more than two programs have preseason Watch List representatives.

TO BE THE BEST... During the course of non-conference play in the 2019-20 season, American Athletic Conference teams will meet a total of 30 squads from the 2019 NCAA Championship field. UConn and USF both have contests scheduled with defending national champion Baylor and national runner-up Notre Dame, with UConn also hosting Oregon in February. The Huskies will face a conference-high seven teams from the 2019 NCAA field, while UCF and USF will meet six apiece.

CLOSING IN UConn's Crystal Dangerfield, UCF's Kay Kay Wright and ECU's Lashonda Monk enter the 2019-20 season within shouting distance of several American Athletic Conference career records. Dangerfield currently ranks fifth in career assists, 151 off the current record of 635 held by Temple's Feyonda Fitzgerald. Wright (207) and Monk (191) both rank in the top 10 in career steals, as they chase the current mark of 307 set by UConn's Gabby Williams.

POSTSEASON POWER Since The American's inaugural season in 2013-14, all 12 women's basketball program have made at least one postseason appearance. 2019 marked the second-straight year The American has placed five teams into postseason play. The conference has earned 14 bids to the NCAA Championship and compiled a 43-11 record in the tournament, with five-time conference champion UConn claiming three national titles. All-time, American programs sport a 141-82 record in the NCAA Championship.

WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN ECU announced the hiring of Kim McNeill as the program's 10th head coach in March. She arrives in Greenville with a 59-38 career record, having spent the previous three seasons as the head coach at the University of Hartford. The Hawks reached the America East title game twice during McNeill's tenure, and earned a berth to the WNIT in 2019.

GOOD AS GOLD UConn sophomores Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Christyn Williams added gold medals to their resumes this past summer at the 2019 Pan American Games. The duo joined Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard as USA Basketball's women's 3x3 squad, going 7-0 during the competition and outscoring opponents 144-70. The gold medal marked the first for USA Basketball in the history of the 3x3 competition.

BEST OF THE BEST UConn claimed its sixth-straight American Athletic Conference title on March 11, culminating another unbeaten conference season. The Huskies made their 12th Final Four appearance, and are the winningest program in NCAA tournament games at 121-19.

THREE AGAIN The American placed three teams in the Postseason WNIT for the second-straight season, as Cincinnati, Houston and USF made the field. The Bearcats and Cougars made their second-straight WNIT appearances, with Cincinnati earning the conference's automatic bid by virtue of its third-place finish.

GETTING LOOKS For the sixth-consecutive year, The American women's basketball championship game finished among the top five conference championships in viewership with 308,000 viewers. During the regular season, 10 contests featuring American Athletic Conference teams saw over 100,000 viewers on national networks. Three UConn non-conference contests (Louisville, Notre Dame and Baylor) say over 600,000 viewers apiece.
