Communications Sales and Production SpecialistCommunications DepartmentThe Communications Sales and Production Specialist uses creative and persuasive skills to generate business and promote the mission of the Diocese of Toledo. This position plays an integral role in maintaining the visual brand of the diocese, and evangelizing the Catholic faith throughout the diocese, by producing video content. This person uses sales skills and strategies to sell advertisement for web and print publications and secure corporate sponsorships for events/activities. Primary duties include:Manages the advertising sales and distribution process for web and print publications of the Diocese, including the Diocesan Directory, Graceful Living Magazine, the Festival Guide and the Fish Fry Guide. Serve as liaison between advertisers and Creative Services Manager for delivering final advertising copy.Maintains sales records and work with finance department to resolve any issues related to payment.Help facilitate corporate sponsorship activities to cover the cost and/or raise funds for events.Film and edit engaging video content for different platforms, including social media, website and offline sharing.Sees all projects through from concept, design, production, completion, and delivery.Provides ongoing collaboration and assistance to diocesan website support positions with website content and requests for changes.Influences and reinforces Diocese of Toledo brand standards.Maintains awareness of emerging technologies related to video production and editing.Collaborate with Communications Department team members on projects of varied complexity.Builds, fosters, and helps promote collaborative relationships with other departments within the Pastoral Center to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, events and services. Serves as a liaison and resource to parishes and schools related to sales broadcast technology needs and questions. Candidates for the position must possess: Bachelor degree in communications, broadcasting, marketing or a closely related field with a minimum of three years of practical work experience preferred Proven success in a professional sales capacityAbility to capture and edit video The ability to respect, promote, accommodate, and not be in conflict with the mission, moral and social teachings, doctrines, and laws of the Roman Catholic faith. Must have the knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and its practices.Must be able to present ideas in a cogent, understandable, and compelling manner. Must also be able to adjust and respond accordingly on tight deadlines and in rapidly changing situations.Must be able to exercise good judgment and work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve complex problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple prioritiesMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle difficult situations with tact, diplomacy and discretionProficient with information technology including Microsoft Office Suite and social media. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diocesan offices, parishes and schools, and diocesan leadership. Ability to exercise considerable independence and judgment with a high level of confidentiality, working with sensitive and privileged information.
