The McCarran Rent-A-Car Center opened to the public on April 4, 2007 at McCarran International Air

-

port in Las Vegas. Designed by SH Architecture, the modern facility, located at 7135 Gilespie St., has

consolidated the operations of 11 car rental companies operating at the airport into one convenient

location for customers. Since its opening, it has eased curbside congestion in front of the terminals.

The facility consists of a 100,000 sf Customer Service Building, a 1.5 million sf, three-story garage,

and three Quick Turn-Around (QTA) Facilities totaling 135,000 sf. Harris Consulting Engineers provided

the HVAC, plumbing and electrical design for the major structures as well as completing several tenant

improvements.

Some of the unique design features included: consolidating and de ning the diverse and competing interests of the rental car companies and using that information to create an e cient, exible and cost-e ective design, and air distribution in very large, open spaces.
