Group and Label Behaviors - Milwaukee Public Schools

Group and Label Behaviors

This activity has students grouping and labeling an assortment of behaviors under the PBIS expectations of Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.

Teacher Prep:

Teacher needs to create a list of example behaviors that students exhibit and put them on an overhead or a projected Power Point or Word document on their computer.

Example behaviors:

• Cleaning up after you eat in the cafeteria

• Walking in the hallways

• Throwing crayons

• Talking loudly

• Saying Please

Student Prep:

On a sheet of paper they will have 4 columns: Be Safe/ Be Responsible/ Be Respectful/ None

Process:

The teacher will display the behaviors and will read them off one by one to the class. When a behavior is read, each student (or working in groups) will write which of the four categories that behavior belongs to. When completed with list of behaviors, go through each one as a class and discuss which category they below under and why.
