Ways to be successful in class

Be on time to class

Be prepared with assignments and materials

Be respectful to the teacher and other classmates (this includes property)

Be organized with assignments and your binder

Follow school rules as specified in the handbook

Participate in class and seek help if needed

Daily Grades: 50% of your grade

Homework

All homework assignments should be completed in pencil in your homework notebook and are due the day of your test for the unit (unless specified such as first week of classes). If you are caught doing the assignment right before class starts or copying from anyone else you will not receive credit for the entire HW grade. Homework is graded based on completion and accuracy.

Quizzes

Quizzes will be announced in advance, and will be given regularly throughout the 9 weeks. There will be about 4 - 6 quizzes per 9 weeks. Quizzes and Homework are both vital to your success in this class.

Major Grades: 50% of your grade

Tests

Tests will be announced well in advance and will usually be given every other week. The test average is the other 50% of your nine weeks grade. You will have about 3 to 4 tests per 9 weeks.

Tutorials

I am available for tutorials Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 6:50 to 7:20am and again Wednesday after school. If you plan to attend tutorials in the afternoon you need to let me know so I can be here, I usually stay after on Wednesday. Don’t wait for the morning of a test to come in for help; I will not be able to help you if you wait until then.

Make-ups/Late Work

Homework/assignments should be made up immediately upon returning to class. It is the responsibility of the student to make up any missed work or come in for help. If you are just absent the day of the test or review, you are expected to make it up immediately upon returning to class. If you are absent for more days you will have the same number of days as you were absent to make up any tests and quizzes. It is also the responsibility of the student to check with the teacher concerning assignments that were given when the student was absent. You may want to e-mail the teacher or check the website to get caught up from home. If you have concerns, please contact me via email or in class.

Parent/Student and Teacher Communication

Please feel free to contact your teacher either by e-mail (recommended) or phone if you have any questions or concerns. A personal meeting may also be scheduled during the conference period or before/after school.

Statistics Class Website

Please visit our Stats class Schoology website on a daily basis for copies of notes, homework, and solutions.
