I. Welcome and Introductions Archie Elmore The meeting was called to order at 9:35 a.m. with introductions of all members present.

II. Minutes from January 30, 2009 Archie Elmore

The minutes of the Jan. 30, 2009 were reviewed. The minutes were approved as read.

III. Budget Report Rebecca Francis

A report of the current budget was given showing budget amounts and expenditures-to-date. Rebecca announced that the notice of the reallocation funds was officially approved. It was reported that the majority of the remaining funds will be used to cover costs of the Connection for Student Success Conference with additional funds spent to cover books and supplies for professional development.

IV. Old business Sharyl Kincaid

A. CATEMA follow up

Sharyl reported the number of students registered in CATEMA in approved classes. June 15th is the last day to enter the CATEMA system for the 2008-2009 school year. Pat shared that since the ACC Visual Communications and Child Development Depts. now require a uniform exam and/or project, student grades on this work must be kept at the high school level independent from a student’s transcript for future accuracy in awarding credit in escrow when CATEMA registration is not completed during the semester of course work. Sharyl gave a reminder that articulated credit is applied to the transcript the semester after an ACC class is completed and the student has graduated.

B. Summer Tech Prep Professional Development

The Connections for Student Success Conference will be held on June 8, 2009. Sharyl gave a reminder that the early registration fee will end May 1st. All proposed sessions were honored. A list of all keynote and concurrent sessions was shared. Miya shared that Region 13 has a discount code for SSA’s in the region. Lunch is included in the cost of registration

C. Summer ACC Professional Development

Sharyl shared a colored guide to June workshops sponsored by ACC staff. More dates will be forwarded to include culinary workshops in July and automotive workshops in August. AutoCAD certificate prep. and exams will be offered the first two weeks of August dependent on teacher interest and availability. All ACC workshops are free. More information is located at Austincc.edu/Catpc under professional development. There is also a link to the conference session at this site.

D. High Schools That Work

Miya discussed the Region 13 summer conference that will be held June 7-11. Steve Frank and the Region 13 website are the contacts for more information.

E. Tech Prep Grant

All ISD mini-grant documents are due June 30. Sharyl shared that the reminder that funds must be spent on articulated programs.

V. New Business Sharyl Kincaid

A. Program Update – Health Science

The Health Science web site austincc.edu/health now shares information for online sessions referencing program requirements. Video clips will soon be added. Keri explained that a post test on the verification tab reinforces documentation needed to enter a Health Science program and that information entered is supported by counseling.

B. Program Update – Computer Studies and Advanced Technologies

Linda shared information about a brochure listing degrees and job descriptions in the area that will be posted on the ACC website. She also gave a report on Gaming courses.

C. Program Update – Biotechnology

The Biotechnology program has decided to keep BITC 1311 through 2010. A workforce 1400 course may be implemented in the future.

D. TEA Update from Consortium Directors Meeting

Sharyl shared the CTE –TEKS Revision Timeline with the group. This information is available along with a powerpoint at the TEA site. As courses are changed this will cause a need to realign the ATC crosswalk and to rewrite local articulation agreements with ACC. Archie reminded members that high school teachers that qualify should receive ATC training in their field.

E. Tech Prep Student Enrollment from Consortium Directors Meeting

A list of Tech Prep students enrolled by district was shared with members. The source of this information is TEA, PEIMS. Discussion of how to code peims #2 and #3 students occurred.

F. Articulation Agreement Submission

TEA approves all 6 year plans. These 6 year plans are posted on the ACC website.

G. Bylaws Review

The bylaws were reviewed and accepted as read with no changes.

H. Strategic Plan

After discussion of changes and additions to the goals of the Strategic Plan, members separated into groups for further discussion. After sufficient time, members gathered to share ideas and to write the goal objectives, activities and related timeline as required by the plan. It will be the responsibility of TEA and the Coordinating Board to run data based on tech prep students in their senior year.
