Atomic Theory Timeline ProjectTo help you piece together the story of what we know about the atom, each group of two will be creating part of the class timeline depicting the development of the scientific model of the atom. It has been through debates by ancient philosophers and new discoveries by physicists and chemists over the last 2500 years that our understanding of the atom has developed. Your assignment is to research the scientists, major contributions and significant discoveries from a specific time period that have impacted the atomic model and together, as a class, we will develop a timeline. For your time period, the following must be included:At least 4 chemists/physicists/philosophers. For each person, provide…Picture of personNameDates of birth and deathCountry of originThe significant discovery or contribution from each person above that helped develop our understanding of the composition of matterPicture of contribution/discovery/model/experiment or, if not available, picture of something that helps explain the contributionYear of the discovery/contributionAt least 3 major world events that happened during your time period. For each event, provide…Date or time period Picture relating to eventHow the event relates to the discoveries/contributions (i.e. advances in technology, wars that cut someone’s life short or changed the focus of their research)You may use text or web sources in your research. You must include a works cited slide for your sources (minimum of 3 sources). The project page in the media center will provide possible links. Wikipedia MUST NOT be used as a source. This information will be prepared in photostory format. It should include a minimum of 12 “slides” - 2 for each scientist’s information (total = 8), 3 for world event, and 1 for works cited (more if needed). Non-pictorial information should be provided either on the slide and/or through a voiceover. Once all photostory pieces have been submitted to me, I will create a class moviemaker timeline with each scientist in chronological order: A Video Atomic Theory TimelineEach time period may be used only once per class. The 8 time periods you will choose from:-Ancient Greek, Roman, Asian, and African Philosophers – Earliest ideas of matter- 1700-1800-1800-1895-1895-1905 -1905-1915-1915-1935-1935- 1950-1950-present ................
